About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Frontend Developer to join our growing development team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to work on modern web applications, develop their technical skills, and contribute to real-world projects in a collaborative environment.

You will work closely with designers, backend developers, and product managers to build responsive, user-friendly interfaces and improve overall user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern frontend technologies
  • Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, functional code
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Debug and resolve frontend issues and performance bottlenecks
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
  • Participate in code reviews and team meetings
  • Stay up to date with emerging frontend trends and best practices

Skills & Experience

  • Basic understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Familiarity with at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular)
  • Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • A portfolio, GitHub profile, or examples of previous work 

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with CSS preprocessors (e.g., SASS, LESS)
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and asynchronous programming
  • Basic knowledge of frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite)
  • Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) standards
  • Exposure to testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress)
